The standard data row does it automatically ok I now have 2 tabs that populate data and its seems very fast!!! I'm not certain, so would recommend getting Excel to tell you! As to what you should do, it depends on how you intend to set all of this up, eg: are you going to open one 'parent' book which then opens the others? As you want to work with other workbooks you need to also specify that, eg: I don't think using the filename is a particularly good idea - what happens if the name needs to change, or somebody does a "Save As" to make a copy? yeah this spreadsheet will be refreshed weekly and sent out... I dont think they would change it but but if they do it would be an issue.

hi I have inherited a few spreadsheet that import data from Access onto a tabbed excel sheet.... Is there anyway to code it so that when the Excel spreadsheet opens it looks up the database and runs a query and dumps data onto a tab in code?
